As each day in time comes and goes, narrative as a whole grows larger and larger. Looking venture at what America calls storey, only a few centuries notify truly define the background of our great country. As I find out the portraits of Paul Revere done by John Singleton Copley in 1768 and over 50 years later, the portrait of Patrick Lyon at the regulate done by John Neagle in 1826, I attempt to find similarities and differences in the genre over time and charge in on the composition, the techniques, and the presentation of the subject. I will besides look into the many different aspects of the portrait like the lines, the color, or even the light and also attempt to bring in relevant information about the social and cultural history of the period.

John Singleton Copley was an American painter who stayed and painted in the colonies for his whole life. The most monumental detail about Copley was the fact that he was self taught. E realthing he was able to accomplish in his paintings he was able to lose wind himself. For example, to better understand the man anatomy, Copley purchased medical textbooks and attempted to experience each curve and each shape the average human body portrays.
