In the end Macbeth was drowned in power he let his weakness and ambition for power take over. He was willing to do whatever it took to assure him the crown even if it meant violent death his own best friend. After Macbeth gained the power he wanted he meet his destruction, Mac Duff wanted revenge for the killing of his family and that is what he got.
