The battle of Midway (June/04/1942) was the turning point in the Pacific war, where the balance of power shifted to the side of the Americans. This battle was pitch-black for the Nipponese as they lost lots of equipment and lives due to the decisions of their commander, admiral Isoroku Yamamoto. This battle gave the Americans confidence as they would go on to becharm all the lost territories that Japan had taken such as the Philippines and eventually force Japan to surrender after the use of goods and services of nuclear bombs at Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
