THE SCARLET LETTER
The scarlet letter was published by Nathaniel Hawthorne in 1850. The story took place in a puritan village of capital of Massachusetts, Massachusetts. The main character Hester has committed adultery and is penalise for it. Adultery is a major fumble in their society, which sin is also the theme of the book. She becomes the outcast in the town afterwards having to wear the letter A on her chest as her punishment. With that she didnt allow such a symbol to potpourri the person she is and didnt allow that to determine her identicalness in society. Dealing with the punishment of sins can reveal your true identity and reveal how strong of a person you truly are. It shows with Hester throughout the novel.
At the beginning of the book she begins to leave the jail onto the support which she is shown in front of a massive crowd as a form of punishment. Along with her punishment she has to wear the letter A on her chest a symbol. She was asked to confess solely she refuses to give driblets father name out.
Her economize recognizes her on the scaffold and later visits her in the prison. He has a discussion with her and states he was wrong for what happen.
He felt that he was too old for her to marry him. He wants to know who Pearls father is but she refuses to state his identity. He demands her to never reveal his identity and also states he will come out who Pearls father is.
As age goes by Hester continues to live in the same village of Boston working as a seamstress while Chillingworth salutary medicine. Her girl grows up to have a dominant character. Although Hester and her daughter had trouble being welcomed in the community, Hester remained a resident there.
