The wardrobes of all the young workforce are being replaced with armor following a finger of national pride to honor their King. However, the youth being caught up in this frenzy are unknowledgeable to the greater problems at home. The first sense of disloyalty is foreshadowed where Shakespeare writes The French advised by level-headed intelligence of this most dreadful preparation (Shakespeare, 152) to inform the reference that the French have insider knowledge. Whomever is informing them of preparations is most definitely a citizen of England deemed loyal.
Shakespeare also holds a large sense of pride for England.



He uses a flattering tone comparing England to that of a microscopical body with a mighty heart (line 17). This shows that England is very kind but also very vulnerable in a sense because a small person with a whopping heart is easily deceived. This just so happens to be the incase as readers are informed that three crowns of England named Richard Earl of Cambridge, Henry master Scroop of Masham and third Sir Thomas Grey of Northumberland have confirmed confederacy with fearful France( line 27).
