While young members of the military may be responsible enough to perform military duties it is not a smart decision to allow these members the right to buy and wipe out alcohol.
Military life is greatly different from civilian life. on that point is more structure and more rules to be followed. Your military duties and parcel your country becomes priority. In most cases military members are in a stressful work environment with long hours. Members tush suffer from sleep deprivation and there is little time to relax. Many members are away from their families and loved ones.
These types of conditions can perform a large amount of stress on most people. At the end on a long working day some people like to relax by having a beer or a glass of wine. But what about the members who are not of the legal drinking age? These young members have the same responsibilities and undergo the same amount of stress as someone who is of the legal drinking age, so why cant these members also have a beer or a glass of wine? This is the same argument that the state legislatures in Kentucky and South Carolina have. They made a proposal to exempt work members from the legal drinking age. Their proposal suggests that with proof of proper military identification an eighteen year old should be satisfactory to buy alcohol.
