John Wayne Gacy: The Mad Clown

Gacy was eventually executed for his crimes on May 11, 1994, in front of members of 23 families of the young boys he murdered. Gacy had tried to say he was not responsible for his crimes because of his childhood behavior and at other times refused to admit his guilt. However, his methodical planning to lure his prey convinced the jury he was well awake(predicate) of what he was doing. His final statement showed his miss of remorse for his heinous crimes "Taking my life won't compensate for the lives of others. This is unless a state murder" (Howlett, 1994, 03).

When it comes to the manner in which detectives became aware of the hidden side of John Wayne Gacy, the tale is long and excruciating because quicker action with less obstacles might have protected the lives of more young men. Part of the problem with arresting Gacy was the fuss of obtaining search warrants for his mansion. He was an admired and respected local citizen by most who knew of him. He was a successful businessman and he would throw elaborate block parties for friends and neighbors in full buffoon regalia. After a string of mysterious disappearances of young boys, Gacy finally picked the boy that would be his undoing. He picked up Rob Piest from a local pharmacy through offering him a contracting job. When the boy did not return, his mother waiting inside to buzz off him home became worried and contacted police. Lieutenant Joseph Kozenczak led the investigation into the disappearance. He approached Gacy at his home

The search of Gacy's home produced tons of evidence indicting him in some kind of crime. at that place were drugs, erotic movies in Sweden, a stained piece of rug, books authorise by such names as Bike male child and Pederasty, a pair of handcuffs, nylon rope, and a receipt for a pasture of film from the pharmacy where Rob Piest had disappeared (Bell, 2000, 8). Inside the trunk of matchless of the three vehicles confiscated police found hair that would later show up to be Rob Piest's.

One of the detectives thought he smelled stark sewage while inside the home and thought it was rum for a contractor's home. Further investigation led them to the crawl lacuna situated under Gacy's home. There was lime covering the reason moreover the earth appeared undisturbed. Police left the home mop up their first search.

to take him downtown for questioning, but Gacy postponed it by saying he had to make some calls because of a recent death. He showed up hours later and said he knew nothing of the boy's disappearance "Lt.
