Definition of a System

Purpose
The main purpose of our department is to accurately gather demographic and insurance nurture for over 200 outpatients per day. In addition, we are expected to presage insurance companies and precertify approximately 75 outpatient tests and procedures and at least 60 inpatient admissions per day.
My department exists to ensure the work done by other departments will be reimbursed by insurance, and that patients paperwork is in parade before they arrive for testing. All of the members of the team agree on our function, however, we rarely discuss our purpose or our priorities.
