When we say the affection of life one check that comes to our mind is probably an image of a baby. A baby buns symbolize innocence, vulnerability, truth etc. but definitely not money. Yet imputable to modernity, the advancement of technology and different factors, what is known as having a baby has recently acquired a new meaning. What used to be the outcome of a natural process has now nonplus the product of a successful industry. Having a baby at present does not unavoidably mean that you have to be pregnant, because babies can be adopted. Women can have a baby without necessarily a male partner, because they can undergo an IVF. People who cannot be pregnant can have babies if they use the service of a surrogate mother. There are many reasons for not taking the natural path. Some women have physical problems, other do not want to be pregnant for nearly a whole year, and there are those who feel that by adopting they save a child from an unfortunate future. Purchasing a baby can be an answer to all these flock and in the last decade There is a goodish amount of baby selling (Goodwin, M. 2010.Page 6).




This paper will reason out that we are now witnessing the commodification of babies, manifested in the three options by which commonwealth can have a baby in an irregular way. It will argue that babies are being purchased through: a) International adoption. b) IVF processes. c) The use of surrogate mothers. The paper will besides argue that consequently the meaning of having a baby is undergoing a transition from referring to a natural process to something that almost an industrial production.
Before further developing the ideas of this paper it is important to explain the concept of commodity.
