Haley Barbours Pardons
On January 10, 2012, ex-governor Harley Barbour pardoned 193 criminals. Barbours actions created an outcry of passion among Mississippians. Out of the 193 criminals pardoned four were last profile convicted murderers.
Haley Barbour pardoned these four high profiled convicted murderers because they worked for him at the governors mansion and he was adapted to observe them on a daily basis. Although law enforcement, attorney General Jim Hood, and the victims families thought that ex-governor Barbours decision was wrong, I look at that he did make the right decision to give on the whole these inmates a second chance at a life outside of prison.
I think ex-governor Barbour did what he thought was best when he pardoned 4 convicted murders. I believe this because most plurality deserve a second chance to live a normal life. Some individuals who have committed crimes admitted that they did the crime, apologized, and have actually changed the way they think. I also think that Barbour pardoned these four murderers because their crimes were separate as a crime of passion. Which means that Barbour probably came to the culmination that these convicts would never kill again? I can ensure why the victims families were upset by the ex Governor Barbours actions. They lost their relations due to the careless actions of one of these convicts still that does not mean we (the people) get to condemn them to a 6*9 cell for the rest of their lives.
